Theories of Play
Exploring Play Theories with Team Corsaro The gameshow session on Theories of Play was an engaging and meaningful experience where I was part of Team Corsaro . During the activity, our team explored William Corsaro’s theory of children’s peer culture and interpretive reproduction. We learned that children are active learners who create meaning through social interaction and play. As part of our presentation, we created a video demonstrating how children imitate and recreate real-life experiences through pretend play and collaboration. The video included Bhutanese classroom and cultural examples such as role play, and group activities. This helped us connect Corsaro’s theory with Bhutanese children’s everyday experiences. Reflecting on my experience with Team Corsaro , creating the video together became one of the most memorable and enjoyable parts of the professional dialogue session.
